Happy New Year !
This year is going to be an exciting one as I am planning to run my first marathon! 26.2 miles. I am volunteering at an Ironman Triathalon as well. I want to complete an Ironman myself one day, I was hoping to make it in the next few years until I began looking up prices for the many of items needed to compete in an Ironman. The bike itself (for a cheap ironman approved bike) is $3,000. I am running anywhere from 2-6 miles a day now. Began spinning, I could do that all day. I am lifting weights 2-3 days a week, I got a weight bench for Christmas for the house, some 10lb free weights, 2lbs hand weights to run with, and my own Kettlebell. =) I had to return the pedometer watch I got as it did not accurately keep my heart rate, but I did upgrade it to a heart rate monitor with a heart rate sensor to wear under my shirt. It was uncomfortable to begin with but now I hardly notice I am wearing it. I began drinking protein shakes daily and added Chicken and Tuna into my diet. I don't know if I plan to keep it in my regular diet or just temporarily. I have become bored with the food I've been eating so will be looking into some more recipes here real soon. I made some adjustments to my regular running route and added on another mile to the end of it. Next week is the beginning of another season of biggest loser and I am looking forward to it !! Here's to a healthy year in 2010 !
